Value-Add Plastics Recycling

Through services provided to all tiers of the beverage industry, Parallel Products recycles and value-add processes in excess of 120 million pounds of plastics each year. Though we receive and process many types of plastic, we specialize in the processing of Polyethylene Terephthalate “PET”, the most common resin for use in beverage bottles.

All four of our processing facilities receive and recycle PET bottles. However, value-add processing is the anchor activity of our newly redesigned and constructed plastics processing facilities in New Bedford, MA and Bronx, NY. From these locations, we provide collection, auditing and recycling services for bottlers and distributors as required by the respective state’s Bottle Bill Recycling laws.

Our facilities employ the best available technologies for de-bale, color-sort and grinding processes. To further complement the capabilities for optic color and resin sorting of bottles, we have deployed the country’s largest array of optic sorters for mixed-color flake materials. This capability allows for the maximum value creation of this previous low-value PET stream.
